PRONOUN

P R O N O U N

Pronoun atau kata ganti adalah kata yang menggantikan kata benda atau orang.

Contoh: Susan is my best friend. She comes from Bandung.

Pada contoh diatas 'She' menggantikan kata 'Susan'. Dalam Bahasa Inggris Pronoun bisa berubah berdasarkan posisi / fungsinya dalam kalimat. Oleh karena itu Pronoun dibedakan menjadi: Subject Pronoun, Object Pronoun, Possessive Adjective, Possessive Pronoun, dan Reflexive Pronoun.


Subject Pronoun

Subject Pronoun adalah kata ganti orang yang digunakan sebagai Subject dalam kalimat.
They go to campus at 6.
We go to campus at 6.
Igo to campus at 6.
You go to campus at 6.
He goes to campus at 6.
She goes to campus at 6.
It (the bus) goes here at 6.


Possessive Adjective

Possessive adjective adalah kata ganti yang dipakai untuk menunjukkan kepemilikan. Kata ganti ini harus diikuti oleh kata benda.

their books
our books
my books
your books
his books
her books
its legs


Object Pronoun

Object Pronoun adalah pronoun yang digunakan dalam posisi object dalam suatu kalimat, atau Object dari preposisi.

Object

You can meet them tomorrow
My parents visit every month
You can meet anytime
I love
I meet him every morning
You will meet hersoon
I bought it yesterday
I am afraid of him
It is for me


Possessive Pronoun

Possessive pronoun adalah kata ganti yang yang dipakai untuk menunjukkan kepemilikan. Kata ganti ini tidak perlu diikuti kata benda (Noun).

Reflexive Pronoun

Reflexive pronoun digunakan menyatakan sesuatu yang dilakukan sendiri. Pronoun ini berakhiran -self, atau -selves. Contoh:
You should not walk by yourself at night.
Rudy cannot move that piano by himself.
